One of my biggest projects as UX designer at TestGorilla was applying our rebrand to the entire website. This required complete organization, mapping our existing assets, creating hundreds of new images, illustrations and icons, and then the uploading process. We also changed the layout for many of the sections and pages.
I also conducted multiple user research studies using Maze and Lyssna to gauge user comprehension of our brand before and after the rebrand and ensure that the changes we were making would not negatively impact our users. We specifically asked people what they thought we did as a company and if they could recall important product information.
This was such a cool application of using AI on our website to deliver user value. This project aims to bring some of the customer delight from our product onto our marketing website. This project (which you can see live and in action here), helps users find the tests that would be most applicable for them to use in their hiring process by asking them to describe who they’re looking to hire or paste in an existing job description. This is a quick way to prove to our users that we have the rehiring tests that they need – and personalizes our product for them. The initial results showed a 10% increase in conversions from this page.
The creation of this project involved collaboration with our devs – who wrote the AI script – conducting usability testing of our initial prototype via Maze, presenting our plan to our CEO and COO, implementing feedback from stakeholders, and working closely with our product design team to ensure our designs accurately reflect our product.
After TestGorilla’s rebrand, there was no up-to-date printed, promotional material available. For a fully remote Saas company, this might not seem like much of a problem. However, from an employer branding perspective, it becomes very hard to generate internal excitement for a brand when you don’t have t-shirts, stickers, or even pens.
For the 2024 Whoop (our annual company retreat) We decided to go about creating many unique pieces of swag. My ideas included a tote bag, sneakers, a thermos, a cross-body bag, and luggage tags. My ideas revolved around travel – since one of our core employer identities is being remote-first and many of our employees live worldwide/travel often. The copy “We hired the best” ties well into our branding of helping businesses hire the best talent and giving our employees a sense of pride in their work.
